Goa is a smallest state by area of the country situated along the western region of Konkan. It lies along the Arabian Sea and it is surrounded by Maharashtra, Karnataka on its sides. The state is considered the biggest tourist attraction for its magnificent beaches and its laid back attitude. Goa has been ruled by several dynasties right from Maurya Empire to Vijaynagar Empire. But what Goa today is just because of Portuguese rule and the influence can be easily seen all over the state. Christianity is the most practiced religion. Most of the state consists of See sides and mountains which enhances the beauty of the state. The state features a tropical climate. It has hot and humid climate for most of the year and the best time for tourists to visit is from October to February. Party season starts from the festival of Christmas and continues till New Year.

Goa is filled with the tourists round the year and most of them are foreigners. Goa is also home to many of the hippies you can see many gypsies with matted hairs in the streets of Goa. Goa is all about Street shopping particularly at night. You can see the streets bustling with crowd and many people from different countries can be seen with their food stalls which are unique in themselves. Anjuna Flea market is one such market along the southern part of Goa. You can find merchandise, jewellery and other things in this market. Mapusa Friday market is a weekly market in the city of Mapusa which also had good products but always remember to bargain while shopping in these markets. Tito’s street is the best place to party. Here you have a number of pubs & restaurants which have an excellent party spirit. If we talk about the fooding in Goa then we have the entire world in front of us. As people from different part of the country stay in Goa, so the food is also international. Italian, Thai, German, Russian, you name anything and you get in on your plate. Being a coastal state the sea food is very famous here and fish curry and Lobster, crabs, prawn rice are very common here. Water sporting on the beaches is one which I have already mentioned and one thing for which Goa is famous is its Feni. It is a toxic drink produced exclusively in Goa. It is being prepared from Coconut or cashew.

So whenever you visit Goa, Do try water sports and get high with Feni.

It is a coastal village along the river of the same name and lies 10 km away from Mapusa Town in Goa. Nearby Chapora Beach there is also Fishing trawler jetty. Chapora beach is a place where you can find the cheapest travel houses of the state and people who are not very sound at the budget can try this location.

It is a church located in old Goa and is a UNESCO world heritage site. The Church was completed in the year 1605 and was built by Portuguese rulers. The Basilica houses mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier and it attracts large number of people from all over the world and after every 10 years it is open for public viewing.

This church is also located in Old Goa and is considered to be the largest Church in India and one of the largest in Asia. The church is dedicated to Catherine of Alexandria and is one of the most celebrated monuments in Goa. This church was built to celebrate the victory of Portuguese over Muslim army in the year 1510. The tower has a large bell which is known as ‘Golden bell’ and it is said to be one of the best of its kind in the whole world.

This museum is located in the city of Panjim which is the capital of Goa. This museum was inaugurated in the year 1996 by the president of India and it has artifacts relating to Hindu and Jain sculptures. It also has wooden artifacts, stone sculptures, rare coins etc. It has several galleries which include Christian art gallery, Banerji art gallery, cultural anthropology etc.
